We&#8217;ve recently expanded the team to five team members including myself &amp; our Creative Director, Sarah. We&#8217;re responsible for total line development: from initial concept through delivery, in addition to any quality control \/ production issues that may arise. I love how fun &amp; playful this group of products is. Some have really strong patterned elements, lots of harsh black &amp; white contrast, interesting speckled prints, various colorations &amp; glazes. We&#8217;re seeing a resurrection of Memphis design elements that were popular in the 80&#8217;s &amp; 90&#8217;s in home decor &amp; interiors.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What is your current favorite Accent Decor product?<br \/>\n<em>The <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accentdecor.com\/lolly-unicorn-planter?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=behind-brand&amp;utm_id=Lauren\">Unicorn Pot <\/a><em>(available for pre-order January 2019)! Unicorns have been prominent in design for the last couple of seasons but we haven&#8217;t seen much of them in the floral space &#8211; I think this is a really unique item that will appeal to our trendy customers. It&#8217;s fun to pepper in some of these fun products throughout our collections &amp; showrooms amongst our more classic \/ evergreen offerings.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What are you most excited for our customers to see in our spring \/ summer collection?<br \/>\n<em>There are a couple of things! I&#8217;m really excited to see how our showrooms come together &#8211; we have some really strong products and interesting stories to tell. Seeing the story being told through design elements incorporated with the product line will be super cool &#8211; seeing the work come to life! We also have some more artistically driven items like our new <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accentdecor.com\/lady-and-gents-budvase?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=behind-brand&amp;utm_id=Lauren\">Lady and Gents Budvase <\/a><em>that Margaret helped create, which I&#8217;m equally excited about.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>While this isn&#8217;t a part of our spring \/ summer collection, we do start showing holiday in our January showrooms. We were offered the opportunity to spend a lot more time thinking through our holiday collection &amp; telling those holiday stories. I think we&#8217;ve done a really good job of putting that together &#8212; can&#8217;t wait to hear what our customers think!<br \/>\nOther elements that I&#8217;m looking forward to seeing are our new larger outdoor items as well as some new furniture pieces we&#8217;ve curated from India. What are your hobbies \/ interests outside of work?<br \/>\n<em>I&#8217;m kind of a homebody when I am home and not traveling. I just love being home decorating, spending time with my family. Activities wise I love to ski &amp; travel with my husband. When I am home &#8211; I love a good show and when we can I love going to the movies.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve traveled quite a bit&#8230; What is your favorite place you&#8217;ve traveled to?<br \/>\n<em>I love Italy. I studied abroad there &amp; can&#8217;t go back there enough. I love everything about it: the food, the people, the culture, their way of life &#8211; everything! I took my husband there a few years ago &amp; it was fun to see him take it all in &amp; appreciate it as much as I do!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the first thing you do in the morning?<br \/>\n<em>I usually start off by warming a bottle for my daughter and then work on getting us both ready to walk out the door!
