Noel Gatts of HGTV Shares Her Favorite Home Accents

From covetable tabletop decor to not-so-basic wall art, we’re chatting with Noel Gatts in a new interior series with interior design powerhouses to get their expert take on home accents and the products they’d love to use in upcoming projects.

Meet Noel Gatts, HGTV Star & Interior Designer

Designer Noel Gatts prepares for the reveal a home, as seen on What’s Wrong With That House? Season 1.

Noel is a powerhouse multihyphenate tackling design, hosting, entrepreneurship, motherhood and family. She’s passionate about affordably elevating any space. A self-proclaimed “Interior Enthusiast,” Noel co-stars in HGTV’s What’s Wrong With That House? and previously Home Inspector Joe. In 2017, Noel launched her boutique studio, beam&bloom, and established a client network. By luck and recommendation, she landed her first television gig on HGTV. Her ‘character driven’ approach to design continues to bring harmony to a growing community of clients and fans.

Designing with clients is a personalized process. How do you translate your client’s unique interests and needs into their spaces?

I love to deep dive into client’s characters then translate their interests and passions into the character held by their home. I spend time getting to know them while listening closely as they describe their lifestyles and style sensibilities. I like to fire off unexpected questions about their favorite music or even a geographical location that holds a special place in their heart. From there, I work towards creating an atmosphere that encompasses all these influences. I always finish with decorative home accents that delight clients while enhancing the entire design.

When sourcing decorative accents, what are some must-have traits or features you look for?

I love multi-functional home accents. The Mara Wall Planters double as art and texture for tricky areas, like corners or small spaces. With their neutral white colorway, they’re easy for most people to incorporate.

The E+E Collection is whimsical, and several pieces are utilitarian and sculptural. The dreamy woodland themes and characters and the dominant antique brass finishes are in perfect balance! My own personal home has a bit of a Secret Garden vibe, and these pieces would be stunning additions.

You’ve got some projects on the horizon. Which home accents are piquing your interest?

I’ve got my eyes on a few products for project inclusion. I gravitate towards the Earthen Pot – it would complete any space. I purchased a gorgeous terrazzo planter stand to fill a corner void – I covet the entire Terrazzo Collection. I dream of all things tablescape for kitchen projects and there’s no shortage of eclectic statement-makers. The Las Positas Colored Glassware is a current obsession, along with the Reverie Tabletop Collection. It’s a favorite thanks to its unexpected and universally appealing silhouette.

Accent Decor always has the unique home accents I need.  A few months ago, I fell in love with the Carnero Sculpture, which is a quirky and sleek black ram, for one of my HGTV projects. It was the perfect finishing touch to the whole design story!
