Dozens of floral designers from California to Rhode Island descended upon Accent Decor’s Atlanta-based headquarters to participate in the one-of-a-kind educational experience, Mise en Fleur. This hands-on, creative gathering merges floral design, education, and community in a welcoming and inspirational environment. Hosted by Christina Yan, Mise en Fleur has grown from a one-time event in Napa to a destination retreat in cool and creative cities around the world. Open to florists and floral enthusiasts of all experience levels, each retreat is centered around a hands-on floral design intensive accompanied by a business course. Peppered into the two-day retreat are opportunities to design and document floral arrangements along with valuable networking with new flower friends.
Accent Decor’s partnership with Christina began in 2022 – with a simple DM. Not long after the inaugural Mise en Fleur, both parties connected to discuss the project’s goals and strategies. Christina’s passion for floral education was evident and in full alignment of our value of infusing passion into all we do.
“We migrated our conversation offline and connected over the phone. Over time, our professional relationship grew. We long-admired Christina’s beautiful work and we were delighted to support her various efforts by providing hard-goods donations for different projects. Later, we invited her to serve as a lead designer on an Atlanta-based photoshoot,” explained Angelique Witcher, Marketing and Content Manager, Accent Decor. “Christina shared her goal of bringing Mise en Fleur east and I mentioned that our new headquarters could serve as a potential hosting site. While in Atlanta for the photoshoot, she toured our space and it was the coolest a-ha moment! Mise en Fleur Atlanta was born.”
Fast forward to March 2024, and Mise en Fleur came to be. Accent Decor’s headquarters offered attendees a stylish and functional space with modern style, usage of a professional photo studio, access to members of the Creative Team and tons of Accent Decor products to work within during hands-on demonstrations.
The weekend’s agenda was packed with a valuable business workshop and interactive design and installation demonstrations centered on bespoke floral arrangements and event decor focused on elevated centerpieces, and large-scale stands.
In a Marketing 101 Course, Christina walked attendees through tips on building confidence as the faces of their brand, content creation strategies along with her tried-and-true pro tips on everything from creating and editing TikToks to collaborating with major brands.
“Attendees utilized every opportunity to maximize their time and investment while onsite. In between sessions they were idea swapping and sharing their learned experiences,” explained Katie Dunn, Marketing Coordinator, Accent Decor. “Their motivation and desire to expand their floral skills and energy was infectious.”
The interactive design and event decor installation demos featured hand-selected Accent Decor products. Chosen for their unique blend of functionality and wow-factor, designers gained hands-on, valuable design knowledge with the following products:
