Meet Megan Reese, Founder & Senior Designer, NorthSouth Design

Megan’s NorthSouth Design is a full-service, boutique interior design team in Parkersburg, West Virginia, serving the Mid-Ohio Valley. Since launching in 2015, Megan Reece and her team have assisted clients with a wide range of challenges. NorthSouth is passionate about working with local clients to help them create a true sense of home that feels tailored for anywhere in the world. Megan’s flawless aesthetic is modern yet warm with thoughtfully executed finishes and details.

How do your West Virginia roots inform your design ethos?

West Virginia probably informs the way I design more than I give it credit. I’ve had the good fortune of having a design business that’s allowed me to travel all corners of the state. Throughout my travels, I’ve taken in the landscape of rolling hills, and I’ve met the most amazing people. I love working with local clients to create attainable and relaxed designs. My goal is to help clients create a true sense of home – my roots have certainly played a role in this.

How do you partner with clients to understand their needs and desires to create their perfect home and space?

In the beginning of a client relationship, I spend a lot of time talking with them about how they live and how they’d like to live. We have a handful of conversations in their existing space before we start the design process. I love getting to know my clients to better understand their needs and wants are. From there, I work on bringing that vision to life.

When sourcing decorative home accents, what are some must-have traits or features you look for?

I primarily search and source decorative home accents with unique textures. Something I love about Accent Decor is the assortment of large decor pieces with scale including decorative vases and substantial pots and planters. The size options are always on point, especially for creating wow-moments in large spaces.
