At the core of Accent Decor are design-forward products, crafted in partnership with internal designers and expert artisans across the globe. Our mission is simple: to create beautiful products for beautiful businesses. Custom product design is a key part of how we deliver on that promise, helping our customers stand out with an assortment that’s thoughtfully crafted.
Many Accent Decor products are truly one-of-a-kind as they’re designed by our in-house Product Development Team, unavailable elsewhere. This allows us to thoughtfully combine beauty and function, informed by over 25 years of experience and a deep commitment to listening to our customers. From florists and plant shops to garden centers, home & gift retailers, and interior designers, our products are created with real-world use in mind.
Custom design also means collaboration. We partner with ethical and highly skilled factory partners who share our vision and help bring each concept to life with care and craftsmanship. With partners from Portugal to Poland and India to Nepal, the result is an assortment that feels intentional and uniquely Accent Decor.
We sat down with Caroline Woods, Product Design Manager at Accent Decor, to discuss the importance of custom-designed products and highlight her favorite in-house designs from our newly launched Spring Summer 2026 collection.

Your team is responsible for creating seemingly endless products and you understand the process from start to finish. Why is custom design so important for Accent Decor and the customer community?
“We put a tremendous amount of thought into our custom designs,” says Caroline. “We balance trends we’re excited about with dimensions, scale, and real functionality. Our hope is to inspire customers while giving them products they’ll use on repeat. Ultimately, we’re creating items our customers have told us they want – and that sets them up for success. We love playing a small part in their overall success.”
How do the needs of Flower, Plant, and Home customers influence your product design process?
“Designing with intention means understanding the nuances of each customer type. For floral customers, we carefully consider opening sizes, height, depth and scale,” Caroline explains. “Floral designers plan directly into vessels, so those details truly matter. We’ve loved getting to know these customers and using their feedback to get every detail right.
For plant retailers, drop-in friendly pots designed for popular plant sizes are essential. These customers love a splash of eye-catching quirkiness, grounded in functional utility. When we start our brainstorming process, we ensure our designs are focused on achieving both.
Home and interior design customers often think in terms of focal points. Large bowls for kitchen islands, narrow vessels for consoles, artful finishes, and on-trend colors all help pieces feel like a ‘found’ object rather than a mass-produced home accent.”
How do global artisan partnerships bring added value and distinction to our custom products?
“We’ve cultivated true partnerships beyond the typical business and factory relationship. As a result, we can incorporate direct customer feedback all while working closely with our factory partners to refine details, and thoughtfully layer in nuanced trends,” says Caroline. “Many of our custom designs intentionally complement pieces we source as-is, creating a cohesive assortment.”
Spotlight on New In-House Designs
Custom products go beyond exclusivity. They reflect collaboration, thoughtful listening, and intentional design. At Accent Decor, they’re a key way we support our customers’ success. Here, Caroline offers a behind-the-scenes look at three new Spring Summer 2026 products and the design stories behind them.
Meet the Sway Compote

“We’re known for our vast assortment of compotes and the Sway was designed with multiple types of floral customers in mind,” explained Caroline. “It features a beautiful neutral color with surface texture and dimension. The slightly scalloped rim captures a bit of trend, but it still feels like a style you can use again and again. We really see this becoming a floral staple.”
Meet the Giddy Up Plant Sticks

“These playful, very on-trend plant sticks were designed to make customers smile. They celebrate the western wear and country music trend in a fresh way. Each bring instant joy and a touch of quirky fun to any plant.”
Meet the Tullia Boat

“The Tullia Boat was inspired by customer requests for artfully imperfect, elongated vessels,” explains Caroline. “It works beautifully with bowl fillers, planted, or as a standalone styling piece. The texture, asymmetry, and sense of movement really set it apart.”
