At the core of Accent Decor are design-forward products, crafted in partnership with internal designers, artist partners and expert artisans across the globe. This season, our in-house product development extended their internal reach by collaborating with a team member to bring to life a design that spawned from a visit to a local art museum.

Meet Alyssa Cassatto, Accent Decor’s Photo Stylist & Operation Manager whose impressive professional background spans roles as a Commercial and Residential Interior Designer, Painter, Jewelry Designer, Display and Exhibit Designer, and Stylist. Her multifaceted expertise extends to occasional product design collaborations, which led to the creation of the newly introduced Envision Wall Mount Vase Collection.

Please share the Envision Collection’s origin story.
Before joining Accent Decor as the Photo Stylist & Operation Manager, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Product Development Team on product concepts. Natasha Pantelides, our Vice President of Design, would share design briefs and discuss product needs, sparking conversations and opportunities. In November 2023, I visited the Michael Carlos Museum, a fantastic inspiration source. I was taken with the museum’s fantastic collection of relics and their curated displays. I longed to replicate the same feeling and unique curation within a home or hospitality environment.

Envision’s concept centered around vessels that could appear suspended whether individually mounted or en masse. Key design elements included interesting shapes with dynamic, non-flat bases, leading to the amphora and barrel shapes. Both shapes have the same bottleneck opening, perfect for delicate blooms or plant cuttings. Additionally, I envisioned a universal wall attachment that could seamlessly support both vessel options.

When I drew the design, the vessels were ceramic, but I felt glass could also look striking yet delicate. The finished product features handmade borosilicate glass material in a tonal, smoky brown ombre color. Customers can order and arrange all six Envision Vase shapes and colors together for a wall display that feels both effortless and intentional.

How was your concept received by the Product Development Team?
It was very well received! The team embraced the idea, and it progressed through prototyping before ultimately being included in the 2024 Home Collection. It was incredibly exciting and rewarding!

How involved were you during the Envision Collection’s development journey?
I provided some feedback during the final selection stage, but for the most part, it was all in the team’s hands after I delivered my concepts. From sketch to final product, the process was approximately a year and a half.

As Accent Decor’s Photo Stylist, how did it feel to photograph the final product?
It was incredibly fun to photograph the collection and experiment with different ways to style the vessels. I truly appreciated the unique opportunity to see my concept come to life and work with it in a way that most product designers don’t often get to experience.

Accent Decor’s customer community is varied – from florists to home & gift shops to interior designers and beyond. How do you imagine different customers interacting with Envision?
There are endless opportunities to create large scale installations regardless of your business or end customer. Picture a dramatic display en masse at a cash wrap or reception desk, an elegant arrangement over a dining room sideboard, or a full wall installation in a hallway. They’re equally fantastic in a sunroom for propagation, a powder room with single floral stems, or a restaurant setting. I think they would shine in an apothecary shop or museum store as well.

Additionally, singular or just a smaller quantity of vessels within an installation would be beautiful. They can be arranged in a grid, freeform, or in vertical or horizontal rows, making them incredibly versatile. The vessels work when left empty for a minimalist aesthetic or filled with florals – there are so many grouping options!
