From Pinterest-worthy wedding receptions to intimate dinner parties, elegant tablescapes peppered with budvases, candles, and striking florals have captured the attention of brides and tastemakers alike. During our Spring / Summer 2025 Flower Collection photoshoot, we brought this wedding decor trend to life with a breathtaking tablescape that blended effortless elegance with an approachable aesthetic.

To help you recreate the look, we turned to the creative minds behind the design, Virginia-based Sweet Root Village, for their expert tips and step-by-step guidance.

Tips for Recreating a Collected-Style Tablescape

• Choose your vessels and color palette. Once you’ve selected your tones you can select vases that complement the look. We recommend selecting vessels of various heights. To ensure a clear view across the table we recommend vases with a height under eight inches. If you’re styling without height constraints, the world is your oyster! Consider options with a variety of opening sizes, shapes and materials. We enjoy pairing simpler styles with dynamic and eye-catching pieces to offer points of interest and areas of rest for the eye.
  

• Next, we consider flower types. Consider the many different shapes, lengths, and styles that florals can come in and make selections that offer dynamic flexibility. Don’t forget about foliage! A single stem of sculptural greenery can make for an awesome budvase arrangement! We love incorporating focal leaves, grasses, dainty unique textures, and classic blooms. To let each element shine, we often dedicate one flower or foliage type per vase.

• Plan with Purpose. When designing event decor, we create recipes for each vase that repeat across various tables to ensure more efficient production and planning. This approach streamlines production and ensures we make the most of our flower orders, which typically come in bulk with specific stem counts. For a single styled table, consider 3–4 types of flowers and repeating them throughout your vases to create a simpler table style that still maximizes using all your stems. So many options! 
  

• Time to assemble. Make sure your vases are clean and full of water as a full vase hydrates your blooms and helps anchor the arrangement to the table. We like to begin by styling with empty vessels, arranging them first to find the right balance of heights and shapes. Once everything feels visually aligned, fill each vase with blooms at varied heights. You can go quite full and lush with each design or scaled back with 1–3 blooms to create a more minimal design! 
  

• Layer in Styling Elements
  To finish the look, add styling elegant tablescape elements that enhance the mood and bring dimension to the table. We love incorporating candles in varying heights to create ambiance. Fresh produce, potted herbs, or even thoughtfully placed decorative elements can add personality and texture. These finishing touches help create a unique finish.
